Connecting Student Board Members

Our Purpose

The New York Student Board Member Association (NYSBMA) connects, equips, and empowers student representatives serving on boards of education across New York State. We provide the training, resources, and statewide community that help student board members lead with confidence, represent their peers effectively, and make a meaningful impact in school governance.

Through leadership development, governance education, peer networking, and mentorship, we prepare students to serve as informed, collaborative, and effective board members.

As the New York chapter of the National Student Board Member Association (NSBMA), we're part of a nationwide movement advancing meaningful student representation in education. Together, we're developing the next generation of leaders who are strengthening schools, communities, and public education through informed, student-centered leadership.
